Weekly photo challenge: Home

This is for the photo challenge this week, a little different than my usual photos.  Since I now live half my week in Panama City Beach, Florida I thought I’d share some shots taken this weekend of my new “home”.  For the first time in many years I didn’t go to New Orleans for Mardi Gras.  Due to various reasons I simply couldn’t get away this year to attend.  Locally, they celebrate it as well ,so I went off in search of experiencing how the Panhandle enjoys this time of year:  Mardi Gras.

While much of the celebrating is similar all over the world, there are some differences.  I refuse to participate in the long lived debate of who brought it here first; Mobile or New Orleans as my view is to just enjoy the sights, sounds, and smells (food) of this festive time.  Wherever, and how ever you celebrate Mardi Gras, I hope you enjoy a glimpse into this area’s festivities.

Laissez les bons temps rouler!!

  1. Welcome! Thank you for subscribing to follow my blog. I hope you are encouraged, inspired and enjoy the photos I take of life’s events as seen through the lens of my camera.
    BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!

  2. Good pictures. Some of the costumes remind me of the pirates pararde in Tampa. I really like the dog in the grocery cart looking at the low country boil. Thank you for choosing my blog to follow.
