This is for the photo challenge this week, a little different than my usual photos. Since I now live half my week in Panama City Beach, Florida I thought I’d share some shots taken this weekend of my new “home”. For the first time in many years I didn’t go to New Orleans for Mardi Gras. Due to various reasons I simply couldn’t get away this year to attend. Locally, they celebrate it as well ,so I went off in search of experiencing how the Panhandle enjoys this time of year: Mardi Gras.
While much of the celebrating is similar all over the world, there are some differences. I refuse to participate in the long lived debate of who brought it here first; Mobile or New Orleans as my view is to just enjoy the sights, sounds, and smells (food) of this festive time. Wherever, and how ever you celebrate Mardi Gras, I hope you enjoy a glimpse into this area’s festivities.
